In Ho Chi Minh City, there is a residential house that has become home to more than 250 weapons from the bronze age. One day in 1993, Nguyen Van Pham came across a beautiful piece of metal in a basket of some shrimpers in the southern Dong Nai Province.
The remains of 11 martyrs have been discovered in the Ma Lam township of Ham Thuan Bac District, in the central province of Binh Thuan since Sunday. According to Ngo Thanh Long, from Ham Thuan Bac District’s Bureau for Home Affairs, Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, in the areas where the remains were found some 30 Vietnamese soldiers were killed on March 22, 1969.
The central province of Binh Thuan has discovered a 9th century relic of the Cham people, said Nguyen Xuan Ly, director of the province’s museum. The stone item features the Linga and Yoni fertility symbols. The 35cm square base is 7 cm high and is made of dark green stone. Farmers in Ham Thuan Nam District’s Muong Man Commune found the stone artefact while planting dragon fruit trees.

The remains of several Cham pottery kilns have been unearthed at an excavation site in the central province of Binh Thuan’s Ham Thuan Bac District. Archaeologists at the site say the kilns, all built in the late 11th and early 12th centuries, are the oldest yet discovered in central Viet Nam, and were probably used for centuries by several Cham generations.

The Vietnam Guinness Book Centre (Vietbooks) held a ceremony on January 2 to announce ten newly-recognised records of Vietnamese Buddhism, mostly relating to the culture.
The Vietnam Buddhist Guiness Programme on November 6 recognised more records, bringing the total of records it has collected so far to 30. The programme, co-sponsored by the VietBooks and the Giac Ngo (Enlightenment) newspaper, aimed at collecting 100 Buddhism-related records by 2010.

The Prince's Castle is a general area consisting of a group of hills, the beach, the Cham towers, a pagoda, a famous poet's tomb (Nguyen Thong), and specifically the ruins of a large French estate. The hills are situated in the Phu Hai district of Phan Thiet and offer the best view of the city, rivers, mountains and beach within the valley. The temple hill is across the street from the city's main cemetery (a virtual necropolis), where the poet's tomb is located.
A farmer has discovered a 10,000-year-old musical instrument called the dan da (lithophone) in the central province of Binh Thuan. The instrument, comprising eight stone slabs, was unearthed in late July by Nguyen Van Thanh who lives in Ham My District of Ham Thuan Nam Commune.
